Moose

I saw a moose and he saw me
Underneath the shrubbery.
His stare was firm as if to say
I'm having lunch, please go away.
Or else I'll call the moose brigade
They're armed and ready in the shade.
Okay! I said, Let's call a truce
Nice to meet you, Mr. Moose.
And away I paddled as he chewed.
Better for the interlude.
